preparation asswipe

Sorry for the lack of posts for the past couple days. Thursday I was too lazy, and Friday I didn’t make it home until past midnight.

About 40 minutes ago I got back from volleyball. I play with Paul, this friend of ours, a professor, and some of his/my dad’s grad students. There were 6 of us this time, but we played another group. They happened to be there and wanted to play, so we just shared the court with them. We won most of the games. No thanks to me, I’m afraid, but at least I’m getting better. While I’m not really dragging, I was still probably the weakest player on our team. But I had a lot of fun, so it’s all good. This time was better than last time.

And speaking of “better than last time,” last night was the Red Hot Valentines show. It was quite enjoyable. Word to the wise, though: don’t fall in the mosh pit. I was so embarrassed. I hit my elbow on the concrete floor, and was too busy scrambling around trying not to get stomped on to notice it hurt until a little later. It swelled up, and hurt pretty bad this morning, but it has since gone away. So it’s all good. The music was good, the crowd was fun, if somewhat inebriated. There was also a greater age spread. Most shows we go to, we’re the youngest ones there, and most people are early 20’s. Here there were some older people, and many more high school kids.

Before the show Mark, Cordelia, Matt, Ben, and I went to Za’s. Matt’s girl didn’t show, she was sick. Or so he said she said. But I believe both of them. And then we went on over to the IMC for the show. Good times.

About an hour ago (this is me typing later, you must realize, since I left this post half-written at 6:30 and am now finishing it) I got back from the movies. Zuke, Nobu, and I saw The Recruit. I am very, very tired now. The movie was good, though. A spy/action movie. I thought it’d be all action, but luckily there were some good plot twists and gratuitous use of technology. I especially liked all the shots of computers, with people hacking in extremely high-level, made up programming languages.

I have to go to the bathroom. Suddenly, just a second ago, I thought this, and then the Preparation H commercial pops into my head. Gotta Go Gotta Go Gotta Go Gotta Go!
