16 is hell not better days

Today I was taking a shower, and started rewriting the lyric’s to Blink-182’s “Adam’s Song”. Yes, it’s still the typical anthem of teenage depression, but I was somewhat more fond of it this way.

I never thought I’d die alone
So many long hours spent on the phone
I have no faith, I’ve lost my mind
That isn’t so hard when you think you’re blind

all the spontaneity of a fire truck

Valentine’s Day. After school (final day of Agora Days. Terribly sad.) I went out with Ben and Maggie to Moonstruck. A $4 piece of apple sure does taste good. What the hell, it’s Valentine’s Day. I’ve spent so much money on food this week. No matter, I’ll make up for it by eating out less in the next couple weeks and not spending money on overpriced movie concessions.

After some quality hanging out, I headed up to Kenney for the basketball game. We won both, yay! How exciting, school spirit.

After the game, over to the school for the dance. A couple very boring hours. Somehow I didn’t manage to entertain myself. Normally at dances I’ll do something like, perhaps, dance. But this time I was limited to wandering the hallways and annoying Cordelia and Mark every once in a while. I don’t know why I didn’t do something more interesting, but I didn’t. I didn’t feel like doing anything. I would have hung out with Zoe, had she not been in Pennsylvania. I tried to just go home after an hour, but my parents weren’t around to give me a lift. So I stuck around.

After the dance, I’m home writing this. I had an enlightening (not the right word for it) conversation with Maggie and I’m talking to a few others online. I need to get a birthday card tomorrow, or as soon as I can, for someone. It’ll already be late, but maybe it’ll get there close to on time.

Valentine’s Day is over. It has been for the past 11 minutes. This has been one of the more unusual ones, I think. Not that anything unusual happened, just that it was different from the rest. Or maybe not, maybe it’s all the same. I can’t really tell anymore.

I’m too cold and tired to write anything more. Until next time…

Background Noise: lots, most recently “Brother in Arms,” Dire Straits
