all that monotony

all that monotony

Isn’t it annoying when you can think of the opening chords to a song, but not the name of the song itself? If you remember the lyrics you can search for them, but if I say “I need the name of that song that goes: dun dun dun DA DA dun dun” that doesn’t really do anyone much good then does it? You can always sing it to a friend and hope to get an answer, though.

Speaking of friends, as of 12:00 AM tomorrow (my dad just had to be dramatic) I’m un-grounded. Good deal. So tomorrow morning I’ll give Zoë a few hours to sleep, and then its to the telephone.

I’m going to bed earlier and earlier, which is odd, considering its spring break. I’m getting about 9 hours a night, but it keeps shifting back. It started off going to bed at 12:30, now I’m down to 10:00. I think its mostly boredom. I have nothing to do at night. I sit at the computer, read, and listen to music all day, so after 10 hours of it I guess I’m just sick of all that.

I think I’ll go eat something. That’s my gut response whenever I’m bored. Which probably isn’t terribly healthy, but once I start putting on weight maybe I’ll worry.

for the life of me

for the life of me

The River City Rebels and Catch 22 are playing a show at the Metro in Chicago April 12th. Mayhap I’ll go. Depends on parental mood and the availability of cars. Time will tell.

I had a ridiculously unproductive day. I really didn’t do much of anything. The cleaning lady was here, and walked in on me while I was changing into pants in the laundry room (it was too cold for shorts, which I had put on this morning). She was very embarrassed. She didn’t really see anything, and I really don’t care, but she would almost blush and look away when I passed by her from then on. I was rather amused.

death or better days

death or better days

I have decided I quite like Catch 22. My friend recommended them to me long ago, because one of the kids who went to our school had a cousin who’s in the band. Thats, like, two degrees of separation. Woo. Anyway, they’re catchy (ah ha, what a pun!). I make too many puns, methinks. Oh well, I don’t think it matters very much.

When they come for me,
I’ll be sitting at my desk
with a gun in my hand,
wearing a bulletproof vest
singing
“my my my how the time does fly
when you know you’re gonna die
by the end of the night”
