preparation: quintessence of dust
Woo! Busy!
The play is slowly coming together. I am much less aprehensive this year than I was last year. I think it’s partially because I’ve gotten over worrying about these things too much, but also I definitely feel like we’re in pretty good shape. A lot of things aren’t what I had envisioned, but I think they’re still valid. And I’m happier with the script than I was with the last one. Or, rather, I started out happier than I did last year. I made many fewer changes this time around, partially out of sloth but mostly because I think its a better play. So I hope it’s well received. If the actors just put emotion into it and don’t mumble and the lighting comes off the way I want it to, I will be content. Still, though — only a few rehearsals left, really. I want to be in good shape before tech week, with workable run-throughs, but with Thanksgiving we’ve only got two real rehearsals.
But all is going as planned, so I am not concerned. Yet.
